Article 370 is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language political action thriller film directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, who co-wrote the film with Aditya Dhar, Jambhale, Monal Thaakar and Arjun Dhawan. Produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar, the film stars Yami Gautam Dhar and Priyamani, alongside Skand Thakur, Ashwini Kaul, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Arun Govil, and Kiran Karmarkar. The film was released worldwide on 23 February 2024.
In the first chapter, NIA agent Zooni Haskar poses as a manicurist to blackmail Sabia into providing information about the whereabouts of terrorist Burhan Wani. Using this information, she leads an operation to eliminate him without authorization from her superiors. The operation is successful, and Wani is killed in a gunfight without any of the women and children present at the compound being harmed. This provides separatists an opportunity to portray him as a martyr, and they launch an agitation across the state with covert political backing. The worsening law and order situation causes Zooni to be reprimanded and transferred to New Delhi.
The second chapter begins with Rajeshwari Swaminathan, the Joint Secretary at the PMO (Prime Minister's Office) been questioned about the stability and security of the Kashmir Valley. She meets with Jagmohan Patil, former Governor of Kashmir, to discuss the possibility of abrogating Article 370. She brings the NIA into Kashmir in order to stabilise the situation, which has worsened after the elimination of Burhan Wani, to investigate all terror cases in the state. Later, Salahuddin Jalal (based on Omar Abdullah) arrives at Delhi, and is guarded by NIA agent Zooni Haskar, who was originally based in Kashmir, but was demoted after her team's neutralisation of Wani. Meanwhile, Parveena Andrabi (Mehbooba Mufti) meets with Rajeshwari to discuss the situation in Kashmir. She criticises the Central Government's operations in Kashmir without the State's approval. Jalal arrives soon later, and starts arguing with Andrabi. Jalal while going to meet the PM, talks to Zooni, mentioning her father, Kabir (a whistleblower who was framed in the J&K Bank scam), who was found dead in a lake in Kashmir by suicide, much to the frustration of Zooni. The Government of India was unable to investigate the scam due to Article 370. Rajeshwari meets with Zooni, trying to convince her to go back to Kashmir to try to abrogate Article 370. She refuses, but Rajeshwari asks her to sleep on it. After Rajeshwari tells Zooni that Kashmir is now under Governor's Rule, she accepts the offer under the condition that two more people can be on the team.
